In green cloth with gilt to type and illustration. Book in very nice shape with just bump to heel of spine and ding to top front corner. Otherwise, sharp corners, clean interior and solid binding. Numerous maps, illustrations and charts - some foldout. Jacket has not faired so well and is unclipped ($10.00) but is brittle and has numerous large chips, tears, creasing and separation at front flap and most of spine. A couple tape repairs to inside of jacket spine.

Tiny spot to top of rear board and previous owner's address sticker to ffep, otherwise clean with sharp corners and solid binding. Jacket is price-clipped with some small chips/tears to edges and flap creases. Some scuffing/marks to panels.

Jacket is unclipped(with sticker over price crossed out), a couple short tears to tops of front flap crease and spine and a few other nicks/tiny chips to same, edges and corners. Light fading and a nick to spine. With photographs throughout.

Signed by author on quotation page preceding title page. In pictorial mustard colored cloth with black graphics/type. Small brown stain to top of rear board and some spots to top and front page ends. Previous owner's name to ffep, otherwise clean interior with sharp corners and solid binding. Jacket clipped at top and bottom of front flap with tears/chips to two corners and spine ends. A few small stains to top of rear panel and smudge to front panel near spine. Some tanning.

Jacket is unclipped and in great shape with just some mild sunning to spine and minimal wear - a couple tiny punctures and nick to head of spine.

A beautiful copy, still glossy with sharp corners and only a crease to middle of spine denoting someone looking at the 80 photos in the book. Appears unread. Red tinted page ends.

Edgewear/creasing with bumps to bottom of spine and top rear corner of spine. Vertical creasing to spine from opening. A couple short tears to top of rear cover near spine and one to bottom font spine crease with some chipping to bottom of spine. Tanning with minimal soiling. Short tears to tops of first few pages. Foxing to top pages and to a much lesser extent front page ends. A few spots in text block, otherwise nice and clean with solid binding. Illustrated with folding map attached in rear. Pages are still uncut. Deckle edge. In French.

Previously in library circulation with minimal marks - only stamps to title pages and pastedowns with numbers in pencil and small stickers to rear pastedowns of both volumes. A couple very small pieces of tape to title pages. Some moisture staining to bottom edge of frontispiece for volume 1. No frontispiece to volume 2. No pockets or due slips. Intermittant foxing throughout, though not excessive. Folding map following Table of Contents to volume 1 chipped to front edge with larger chip at bottom edge and a number of short tears/nicks. Also, splits to top and bottom of one crease, but still holding. Illustrated throughout in black and white.
