Handsome old text with darkgreen cloth spine that is a little rubbed and aged, spine gilt still legible. Black and green marbled boards are rubbed at the edges but covers still functional and attractive. Interior has occasional small pencil marginalia, along with bookplate and signature of G.C.Scoggin including a date of May 1908, Leipzig. Noted classicist and author Gilbert Campbell Scoggin had finished his doctoral work in the US and had gone to Leipzig to work in 1907-1908, before returning home. Nice original copy with a nice association.; 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall .

Printed by Duboy-Laverne for L'Imprimerie de La Republique in the Year X (1802). Extremely rare French-Arab dictionary, slanted toward those doing business in the Levant. Brown paper-covered hard boards are worn at all edges. Both boards detached, spine perished. Front end paper has some small marks and scars, first blank detached, has old ink ownership inscript which has been scratched out. Foxing throughout, very occasional small ink blots in both black and brown ink, sometimes affecting text although generally minimally. Last blank detached, has some old notes and mathematical sums in ink, last end papers has a few small scars and marks. Usable as is but would benefit from some restoration.; 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall .

No title page, bottom page indicates Habeiche and title, bibliographic details match the 1890 2 volume edition as notes. Large 8vo Dark brown leather spine and corners, spine has 4 raised bands with gilt ornamentation and Arabic title. Spine is scuffed and rubbed, leather corners mostly worn away, scallop embossed black cloth boards are a bit worn, back board has a scar and cloth missing at edge. Interior green paper end papers have numerous owner inscriptions from the 1940s, black hinge reinforcing, paper is quite browned, a bit of humidity staining at the top edge starting at about page 730, otherwise clean and unmarked. ; 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall .
