Description:
London and Sydney: Pan Books. Good. 1979. Paperback. 0330257811 . 173 pp + ads. Glossy paper covers with an illustration of a recalcitrant pig and an irate farmer, some normal wear, price sticker scar across mid-spine, interior paper a bit browned and obviously read but clean and unmarked. Typical used but not abused book condition. John Holgate and family, suburbanites turned farmers, have not only survived their first year on the land, they even seem to be getting good at it. Their increasing confidence, however, is not aljust justified, as they tackle muck-spreading, cow-chasing, haymaking and harvest, all to the amusement of the locals at the local pub. Gentle, entertaining stories about city slickers who try their hands at the country life. ; 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall .
