Original dark oxblood cloth covers with black are clean, just a hint of wear at spine tips and board corners, back board very slightly bowed out. Interior front and last blank have some foxing, otherwise clean and fresh. First published as an article, this is the first appearance in stand-alone book form. An explanatory introduction , an English translation of the papyrus, a commentary, indexes and then a transcription of the papyrus, an errata slip tipped in. Frontis figure of the ostracon, unnumbered pages with sections of the ostracon with printed hieroglyphs below with number keys, then 33 numbered pages of commentary. Original brown kraft paper dust jacket is a bit tattered, hand-written title at spine. Book itself is bound in dark green cloth, with a small bit of sunning to upper edges, slight rubbing to corners and spine tips. Pencil erasure to first blank, title page has signature and two stamps of noted linguist, sci-fi novelist and gaming creator M.A.R. Barker, last two blanks have bottom corners roughly torn off, otherwise a nice copy. Over-sized, may require additional shipping depending on your location. ; Elephant Folio - over 15" - 23" tall .

Original cream card covers have som e normal wear, bottom front has a large grease stain which has communicated to the first 9 leaves. There is also a narrow wrapper indicating that the book was at the Kongress in Warsaw 14-18 IX 1965, the wrapper is bent, creased and worn. Interior is clean aside from the grease stain, maps is clean and nice. Quite hard to find. ; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 51 pages .

Signed by the author on the verso of the memoriam page. Black paper dust jacket with bronze and white illustration is clean, some short edges tears at the top, some rubbing top and bottom spine and corners, flaps intact. Book itself has very minor wear to the green cloth, a small bit of bubbling to the cloth which looks like a publishing flaw rather than later damage. Inside front cover handsome book plate, otherwise clean and unmarked. Bishop White lived in China for many years and this is his 5th study of Chinese artifacts for the Royal Ontario Museum.
