Alfred A. Knopf, 1925-01-01. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/None as issued. Solid Limited First Edition Thus Copy, one of 3000, numbered a low number 404. Previous owner's bookplate affixed to inside front cover. Text is clean and unmarked, with some age toning. Gilt page edges at top. Binding is firm. Light wear to cover edges and corners. Spine has some sun fading. Gilt title on cover and spine still crisp, and especially bright on front cover. A nice copy considering age. No jacket, perhaps as issued. No illustrations in this edition. This novel was later used as a basis for a movie of the same name, starring Anthony Perkins and Audrey Hepburn.
