Spine has been rebacked with five raised bands and titles in gilt on label within one of the compartments. Condition: Good, covers are rubbed around edges with general shelfwear and some sunning and staining. Binding sound. Bookplate of Lord Walsingham bearing the motto " Excitari non Hebescere" on front pastedown. Text lightly browned throughout with occasional foxing. Some pages have waterstaining to the very edges. 608pp. including index. Engraved portrait frontispiece of John Weever. Five engraved plates of armorial monuments lettered A-E. Edinburgh: Sir D.H.Blair and J.Bruce, 1802. Book. Fair. Full-Leather. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Full black leather binding . All edges gilt. Condition: Fair, binding sound, covers are in good condition, with the patina of use. Front and back endpapers are lightly browned, and have the dates of births and deaths of several members of the Taylor family from Bolton, (also written as Bolton in the Moor) Lancashire, the earliest birth date being 1813. The first section of text at the begiining of the book (after the calendar) is the order of Morning Prayer. The first twelve pages are quite soiled at the bottom right edges of the text, with chunks missing from the lower right edges of the first ten pages, getting progressively smaller. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.

Oxford: Printed at the Clarendon Press by W.Jackson and A.Hamilton, 1786. Book. Good. Full-Leather. 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. Bound in period dark red leather with gilt tooling, five raised bands to spine. Marbled endpapers. All edges originally gilt but only faint evidence of this. Previous owners initials, A.S.H. in gilt on the front cover (the reverse of the front endpaper bears the inscription Ann Speed Hodgskin her book 1789). Another later previous owners name on reverse of frontispiece. The covers are quite rubbed and shelfworn, binding holding firmly. The page facing plate 22 has a three inch horizontal tear. Condition: Fair, bottom edges of the covers are sunned, titles are dulled on spine. Binding sound, no inscriptions. Light foxing to endpapers and half-title. Text clean. 93pp. Eighty sepia plates, with an introduction and notes by Ratcliff. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.

Reprint, October 1926 (first published by Macmillan & Co. in 1913) Blue cloth with title in gilt on spine and front cover. Condition: Fair, covers are generally shelfworn with cloth to top of spine beginning to split at edge. Endpapers are lightly foxed, with slightly heavier foxing to frontispiece. Text throughout is generally clean with occasional light foxing. The front endpaper bears the inscription "I hope that you will like Tagore, Dec.1931" 101pp. B/w frontispiece portrait of Tagore by William Rothenstein, no other illustrations. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

London: John Philp, 1865. Book. Fair. Cloth. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Dark green cloth with bevelled edges. Title in gilt on spine and publishers crest on front and rear covers. Quite heavy foxing to first and last few pages. The book has general light browning and foxing throughout. Half-title bears an gift inscription dated 1865 to the previous owners (Franciscan convent, Woodchester, Glos.) and the following blank page bears a small modern address label for the Franciscan convent, Woodchester, with the word "library" neatly written in biro above. The front endpaper and following page have had the top corners removed (about one and a half inch depth). Binding sound, but some pages have light creasing to the internal edge where they meet the centre. 351pp. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Essex: The Langford Press, 1970. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. Limited Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. First published in 1650, this abridged edition was the first publication of the Langford Press in 1970 and was limited to 1000 copies. Pale grey marble effect paper covered boards with title in gilt on spine and a cross emblem in gilt on front cover. Condition: Very good, with very light shelfwear to covers. Half-title page has some dark lilac colour splashmarks from the facing endpaper. Binding sound. 173pp..
