Some wear to spine ends corners and bottom edge of boards, binding split at the "About this book" page, ink stamp on title page and others with ships names (Borjistan, Columbia Star, Ellora, Port Quebec) on last page. Deals with the wreck of the French steamship "Ville du Havre" which sank on 22nd November 1873 in mid-Atlantic after colliding with the "Loch Earn" which was also badly damaged. Deals with events off the east coast of Florida in 1994 when Skip Strong, master of the oil tanker Cherry Valley, received a distress call from the ocean-going tug J A Orgeron which had lost power in high winds. He took the tug under tow to safety.
