Chicago: Aldine Publishing Company, 1967. Ex library copy with remains of paper labels inside font board and on f/ep, ink stamps on f/ep, title page and rev, and on page edges. Unclipped dustwrapper has creasing and small tears to the edges, and a lot of fading to the spine. Bumping to spine ends and corners, white library markings to top and bottom ends of spine, and some shelf-wear to bottom edge of blue boards, but otherwise a not too bad, internally clean and tight copy of this hard-cover book. Originally published in 1966, this is a second printing from 1967. Deals with the use of peyote among the Navaho (or Navajo) people based on field work from between 1949 and 1953. A heavy book, packaged weight is over 1250g, so extra postage will be required from buyers outside the UK. 454pp, 26 b&w illustrations, 50 charts and tables.. Hard Cover. Good/Fair. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Ex-Library.
