Description:
NY: Frederick A Stokes. A spectacular copy of this enchanting book into which a new mother can record facts about her new infant with a gorgeous color frontis illustration of a baby plus 30 illustrations in black & white by Humphrey, who was the mother of actor Humphrey Bogart. This copy has white cloth covers, slightly soiled with fancy lettering in blue with a bright stamped silver design depicting a baby in a long christening dress being offered a decorated box by a winged cherub. The book is unused except for the name of a baby's nurse who was probably the nurse of the new mother to whom the book was given. There is an inscription on the front free end papaer, "To my bonnie wee lassie from Nursie" which adds to the overall charm of the book. Nicest condition copy of this rarity I have ever found. Highly collectible, OUT OF PRINT. . Very Good++. Hardcover. First Edition. 1898.
