When did you get started in bookselling?

I have always been obsessed with binge buying books, more often letting them sit in my house instead of reading them. I read quite a few this past year and I've always wanted to start a collection for my own library. I own over 300 volumes currently and I finally realized I wanted to be a bookseller when I read Victor LaValle's The Changeling. The protagonist in the books lived the life I wanted and didn't know how to obtain. Thanks to Mr. LaValle, here I am!

What are your specialties as a dealer?

Classics. I live in an old college town where many elderly people settle. We have a huge antique mall that constantly gets old copies of classics from estate sales.

What is your favorite part of being a bookseller?

I love knowing that I can be the person who helps someone find "that" book. I have been the buyer of "that" book on many occasions and I want to help other people experience that moment when they find the book they've been looking for for so long.

If so, do/did you have any bookstore pets?

I have two fat tuxedo cats. They love my office, especially my record player and their window ledge.

What is your favorite bookshop (other than your own)?

It's called GypsySnark books. It's filled to the brim with amazing treasures and the owner cowers from me when I enter because I walk out with half of her stock.

What do you personally like to read? Collect?

I love horror and am currently working on my own horror novel, any literary horror makes me cuddly inside. :)

What one book would you buy if price were no object?

I'm currently watching ten different websites for a bilingual poetry book called the Fifty Minute Mermaid by Nuala ni Dhomhnaill. It's only selling for $120 or so, but that's quite a bit for a college kid.
