This edition uses the earliest style of binding for Modern Library, Toledano stlye number 1, which was in use from 1917 to 1919. The front cover also has the earliest Modern Library logo, with the gothic type used for the BL lettering within a gold square field. 357 pages, 4-1/4" X 6-5/8". Green flexible leatherette cover. List of Modern Library titles opposite the title page includes 50 titles. Some edge wear to the cover, with some fraying at the head of the spine. Lower right corner is slightly bumped inward. Green marbled endpapers. Includes his most famous poem - 'The Hound of Heaven'. Dark blue topstain is somewhat faded, hs some bump marks and a slight stain mark near the spine, about 1 inch across. Illustrations by Will Vawter, who illustrated eleven collections of Riley's work. Red cloth covered boards, with the title and author name on the front cover and spine. No dust jacket. 5-1/4" X 7-3/4", 180 pages. Cover boards show some wear with spots of staining and rubbing, spots of edge wear on the bottom and top edges, tips of the bottom corners are worn and exposed.
