New York: Harper & Brothers, 1880. Half-Leather. Very Good/No Jacket as Issued. Includes "Fish and Men in the Maine Islands" by W.H. Bishop, "The Cruising Canoe" by C.E. Chase, "An Autumn Holiday" by Sarah Orne Jewett, "Robert Burns" by Longfellow, and the first five installments of "Washington Square" by Henry James. Just to name a few of the wonderful pieces of American literature in this volume. Lower from corner is bumped and worn. Minor shelfwear. A previous owner made a tape tab for the Bishop piece on Fish and Men in the Maine Islands. Both interior hinges starting but still tight. Otherwise a clean and tight book with wonderful steel engraved etchings. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
