Paris: Fernand Nathan. Soft cover. Very Good. The interior is clean and tight. There is a former owner's signature on the title page, and the paper has tanned very slightly. The paper covers have light wear at tips and corners but are also in very good condition. This is a nice tidy copy.

Paris: Hachette, 1977. Hardcover. Very Good. The interior of the book is clean and fresh, with just a few signs of previous use. The illustrated cover (Babar looking out a window) is bright, again showing very light use. The red cloth spine is undamaged and firmly attached. Synopsis: This is a small-format picture book, containing a Babar story, followed by a game and a song. The "jeu" consists of a series of questions about the plot, and the "chanson" is the words and music to "Le bon roi Dagobert", printed on the back cover. I'm not sure if this was intended for the school market, but the questions (with answers supplied) certainly makes it a useful book for French teachers to use with young students.

Paris: Presses De La Cite, 1960. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. The interior of the book is crisp and clean. The paper has yellowed, but there are no marks, signatures, or wear. The orange covers show light wear overall. The dust jacket also shows light edgewear, including several shallow chips and short tears. The attached scan should give a better idea of condition. The jacket is now in a protective mylar cover.

There is a gift inscription to a former owner, with names blacked out, but no other marks or signs of wear. The paper has tanned slightly. The grey tweed covers are fresh, with very minor wear at tips and corners. The dust jacket is not price-clipped, and is is also in very good condition, with light wear. The attached scan gives a better idea of condition. The jacket is now in a protective mylar cover. Artia, 1989. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good. This is a board book (12 p.) with Manasek's wonderful colour illustrations of forest birds and animals on each page. The book is in very good condition, with light wear to the laminate covers and shallow bumps at edges.

Montreal: W.J. Gage. 2nd Printing, 1951 . Hardcover. Good. This is the French and Catholic version of "Our New Friends," by William S. Gray, the Dick and Jane reader. It was published in the "Cathedral" series of readers authorized for use in the separate (parochial) school system of Canada. Dick and Jane have become Paul and Jeanne, Sally is Lise and several short chapters dealing with religious themes have been inserted. The interior of the book is tight and clean, with pages showing light handling, but no tears, marks or damage. The blue pictorial covers also show moderate wear, and bumps and rubbing to the top and bottom of the spine and corners.

Montreal: Sélection Du Reader's Digest, 1994. First Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/No Jacket. This is a set of four books which make up the the French version of the "My First Number Box" series, The series introduces basic mathematical concepts to children in the form of stories. The other titles are: L'invitation, Les gourmandises, and La grosse boite.The interior of the book is in excellent condition, showing few signs of wear or use. The ownership box has not been filled in. The glossy pictorial covers are in similarly excellent condition.

The paper covers have been protected by a dust jacket, and are fresh, with light wear to edges, and one dent on the bottom of the front. The dust jacket shows moderate wear and rubs, particularly to the spine. It repeats the artwork on the cover, is now in a protective mylar cover, and looks slight shabby but still attractive. Ask for a scan to get a better idea of condition.

Montréal & Toronto: W. J. Gage Limitée, 1962. First Edition . Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. Overall, this is quite an attractive copy, but one with a major condition problem. The interior of the book is clean and tight, showing light use only. There is a former owner's name in marker on the top corner of the front fixed end paper. The worst problem, however, is on the title page, where someone has cut out the illustration, amounting to half of the title page. This damage does not affect the usability of the book, but definitely makes it a less attractive copy. The illustrated blue covers are bright, with light wear at edges and corners -- please note that the shadow visible in the attached scan is just that -- a shadow -- and not a darkening of the colour of the actual book.

The yellow cloth cover is bright, again with light wear to edges and corners, but no damage or problems. A fresh, bright copy of this rare "Dick and Jane" item.
