There is no date of publication in the book itself, but the British Library entry gives the date as 1879. The description lists some of the many, many condition faults inthe book. The pages are intact, but show reading wear and handling. The colour frontispiece is still present, but there is a water line along half of the bottom of the page. The end pages and binding are in poor condition, with a tape repair to the split along the front gutter, etc. etc. The covers show significant wear at all edges and corners, visible handling, and some lifting and damage to the onlay on the front cover.
