London: Morgan and Scott, 1890. Black and silver titles with coloured floral decoration on blue cloth boards which are clean and unmarked with just a touch of wear to corner tips and spine head and tail. Internally very clean, tight and unmarked. 155 pages. Illustrated. Not dated but circa 1890's. The author's full name is not known. In his preface he states that Bunyan's 'Holy War' was full of long speeches and uses somewhat antiquated terms, and is rather wearisome and hard to understand. This book therefore is a simplification of the 'Holy War' and the town with the five gates is 'the fair and goodly town of Mansoul'. NOT IN THE BRITISH LIBRARY B2D. First Edition. Hard Cover. London: John Murray, 1983. A Very Good+ unmarked copy which has a small blind embossed personal stamp to front endpaper, a corner crease to top of one page and a little light foxing to closed edges with near Fine dustjacket which is not price clipped. 221 pages.
