First edition, this copy signed and inscribed by both the author and the illustrator. [x; 150 pages] Printed on laid paper. 24 cm; green cloth with a beige cloth spine, stamped front cover illustration, brown lettering on spine. Dust jacket has clipped corners, with the price of $2.75 intact. A series of stories around Kantchil, a tiny mouse deer that stands only one foot high. This is a book written to bring folklore to children, with stories about wise men and foolish men, heroes, rajas, animals of the forest and the river. With a glossary and guide to pronunciation at the end. The dust jacket has some wear across the top, generally good, The book is in very good condition, some wear at the head and foot of the spine.
