Student inscriptions to the original owner on the endpapers and here and there throughout. Covers covered in glassine plastic which has discolored underneath the black title letters. Still a vg copy of a rather scarce Oklahoma City high school year book.

Good ex-library copies with spine labels and a few other indicators. No check-out pockets. Very scarce.

The confederation was originally led by Henry Starr. Fine, like new.

Hagerstown: The Weekly Globe, 1894. First Edition. Soft cover. Good. 1st printing. Folio news folded to 17" x 24". Dated Hagerstown April 26, 1894. The article, which takes up 8" of column space in the middle of the front page, and is datelined at Guthrie, O. T. on April 21, continues in 3rd & 4th headlines: "SOME OF THE BANDITS ESCAPE: It Is Said That Three of the Band Were Left Behind Fatally Wounded, and That Two of the Marshal's (sic) Posse Were Killed and Three Wounded." This is surely a reference to the gun battle at Ingalls which took place the previous fall, Sept. 1, 1893, in which three lawmen were killed. In this article the fight took place near Ingalls at the house of Bruce Miller and lasted all day long with "volley after volley" being exchanged. Reviewing Oklahoma outlaw and lawman historian Glenn Shirley's books, we see reference to a battle of this nature at this time, and no reference to Miller. Co-operative Books, Norman, 1939, 1939. First Edition. Soft cover. Very Good+. Rust-colored wraps. 56pp. The author was born in 1869, grew up in a ranching family in Texas, & migrated to Indian Territory & made the 1889 Run. This memoir was published for the 50th anniversary of the 89er Run. It was the first of a projected series of booklets. Near fine condition. This copy also has the publisher's printed "belt" wrapped around the book & folding under the covers. It reads "O Pioneers" etc. on the front & the back gives ordering information for additional copies. Very scarce. Herd 568.

Cloth. 441pp. Illustrated with vintage photos of the famous Fort Sill, Indian Territory frontier photographer of wild Indians, W. S. Soule. Appendixes. Glossary, Index. Maps. One of the classic and important military books on the frontier during the Indian Wars. A near fine copy with usual darkening to gilt on the spine titles. The second printing dj is same size as first printing dj with same coloring, lettering, & illustrations including backstrip. Price on the flap is same as on first printing, but repositioned. Minor textual position changes to info on flaps; rear panel with different list of OU books for sale. Because design/color/illus of the dj is the same, I have not discounted the price severely because it is a second printing dj, but of course the prospective buyer may beg to differ.

Oblong folio pictorial and glossy wraps. 46pp. Amply and appropriately illustrated with vintage photos, maps, etc. This fine publication, long out of print, covers the Tulsa Race Riot / Massacre / War / Disaster of 1921, now so prominently revived in current reporting. This publication also remarkably opens with a brief review of early Oklahoma with the Trail of Tears, Black troops in Indian Territory, and Black towns in Oklahoma before moving on to Black Wall Street and the 1921 tragedy. This copy vg+ with some creases along the stapled binding. Now very scarce.

An excellent resource, one of the best to come out of the Cherokee Strip centennial in 1993. Railroads, cattle, military location s, land rush, Native Americans, etc. Surprisingly scarce, especially in the hardbound binding. No dj as issued. Waviness to pages due to exposure to dampness; damp stain just visible across bottom of pages. Covers unaffected. Priced thus.
