We once dated this 1904, but most early copies available are dated 1905. The cover has a color photo of summit of Pike's Peak with tram, and drawing of Native American scene. Large drawing of Chief Red Cloud on the back cover. Unpag. (36pp). Abundantly illustrated with b/w photos, many by Jackson, in different sizes & also with various vignettes added. One page of "Valuable Statistics." Images almost exclusively of Colorado scenes. Covers are in very good condition with no tears or chips. Occasional edge tear to interior. Early copies more uncommon.

Richmond in the amount of $24.00 and endorsed by him on the back, and J. W. Williams for $6.00 and endorsed by him and Toby Zanella on the back. Both checks signed by John Stroehle. Cancellations dated Jan 4 and 9 (?), 1913 on the front. Light soiling, but vg.

Only three copies found in worldwide libraries. Oblong cord-tied brown and maroon pictorial wraps, 7 1/4" x 10". Twenty-eight (28) half-tone photos of burros, most in humorous situations. Photos are by Tracht who is also cited as Publisher. The halftone plates printed by Frank Reistle, Denver. Stain lower left corner of front cover. Half of the back cover is darker than the other half. This is not a stain, but perhaps cause by sunlight differential. It seems strange to call a photo book of burros rare, but this one is.

A rare little item with, after limited search, copies only found in two libraries. No copies turn up in auction history databases.
