The individual volumes are bound in blue cloth, blind stamping on front boards and stamped in gilt on the spines - the covers are rubbed, scuffed and lightly soiled. Spine itself, with red and gold stamping, is also very worn and split vertically but still adherent to binding. Pencil notations on front and rear endpapers. Text is age tanned and mottled but appears unmarked and remains very readable. An interesting volume documenting British thought in the years just prior to the American Revolution. A friend of Daniel Boone and an adopted member of the Shawnee Nation, he fought in the Revolution, Northwest Indian War and the War of 1812. Binding is firm. Black cloth boards with gold stamping are faded at spine and soiled with some edge wear and gently bumped corners. Beautiful pictorial endpapers. Notations on front endpapers.
