The dust jacket has chips and wear along the upper edges with a large chuck of 3 inches by 1 inch missing from the upper rear corner of the dust jacket.

There is a touch of soil to the lower front corner of text block. The dust jacket, now in mylar, has a trace of soil to the white rear panel. A clean, tight copy.

Young readers story of a young man who moves to Nebraska during the volatile 1850s and, after meeting Abraham Lincoln, decides to fight slavery via journalism. The cloth shows just a trace of edgewear. The price-clipped jacket has light edgewear with three short (1/2" or less) closed tears (no chips). The mostly white rear panel is not soiled. Clean and tight; jacket in mylar.

One fold program by what was then called the Nebraska State Teacher's College and is now The University of Nebraska at Kearney. There is a crease across the middle of the program. Unmarked.

The dust wrapper has no rips, chips or clips, but does shows faint rubbing and a touch of soil to the mostly white surface. A clean, tight copy, with the jacket now in mylar.
