Not to be confused with the Fenno trade edition published the same year. 144 epigrams, each with a Meeker illustration, printed on the rectos only. This copy lacks somewhat more than half of the spine. (see picture) Front hinge cracked open to the mull. Otherwise light edgewear, mostly at the corners. Internally clean and unmarked.

The slate-blue buckram shows only light wear. An unmarked card pocket is affixed to the rear pastedown, but there are no other library indications. One leaf has a 3" tape repair; another has a 2" unrepaired tear. The binder penciled in a few page numbers to keep the collation straight; this volume is otherwise unmarked. Uncommon. Decorated endpapers; all edges marbled. Bergliot Ibsen was Bjornson's daughter, who married Henrik Ibsen's son Sigurd. She had a career singing as a mezzosoprano in Europe, and late in life wrote a biography of her father, mother and husband. The letters here, received at her home at Aulestad, Norway, were written between 1887 and 1890. This copy has light bumps at the heel and upper rear corner, but is otherwise fine. Ex-library copy with library rules sticker (in Norwegian) to the front pastedown and a Trinity Church Library stamp to the half-title, otherwise unmarked. The spine has an area where there was likely a DD sticker, but it now appears only as slightly cleaner than the surrounding cloth. A selection of Vinje's writings, edited by Koht. The cloth is edgeworn and rubbed, with the cloth of the rear cover wrinkled from water damage. The rear endpaper is lightly affected, but there is no internal damage. Both hinges still solid, although the volume is a bit shaken. This copy has obviously seen some use, but remains a useful reading / reference copy. Uncommon. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall
