Frankfurt A.M.: Carl Jugel 1844. Oblong 8vo. n.d. [circa 1844] Litho title page in gold and green, and 17 steel engraving. All, except one of the engravings still has the original coloured paper tissue guards, but the plates are quite heavily foxed. In the original glazed paper printed boards, with cloth spine, the binding is shaken and loose, and the boards are rubbed. However, a scarce item. . Good. Original Boards. 1844.

Green boards, with white label printed in green. Very good. Lacking the preliminary 4 pages of text, this portfolio does however have all 20 erotic illustrations. Full red morocco with gilt lettering and decoration to the spine, boards and edges, gilt inner dentelles. Blind detail on the boards and marbled end papers. No pagination, [1, 40 etchings]. Some foxing throughout. Generally in fair condition with some wear to the boards and spine, particularly the edges, and a split between base of spine and front board. Uniformly bound in full green calf with gilt ruled lines to boards and gilt detailing, five raised bands, and red title & volume labels to spines. Slight rubbing to boards and wear at extremities, but all volumes in very good, uniform condition with firm bindings. Marbled endpapers and all edges marbled. All with sewn in green ribbon page markers. Internally clean with little to no foxing. Collated - all plates present. . Very Good. Full Calf. 1880.

Beautiful nut brown full straight grained morocco binding with a Sotheran's stamp. Gilt ruled lines, and wonderful tooling to boards. All edges gilt. A touch of wear to leather, slight dents to top edge. Scattered light foxing, but very good and clean internally. Vol 1 only. An old pencil note on the endpaper declares this the 1st issue with 'peuvent' on the engraved title. . Very Good. Full Straight-grained Morocco. 1791.

Raised bands to spine and bevelled boards. All edges gilt. Wide inner dentelles tooled with a gilt design of trailing vines. Bound by Bumpus. One volume only, being the signed proof volume.
