The collection dealt with in the present catalogue is not large, but is of considerable importance by reason of the extreme rarity of a number of the works which find a place in it. It describes 154 items. Of these 132 formed part of the famous Althrop Library.

This is the rare original edition of this very detailed catalogue of 700 Spanish and Portuguese incunables. This volume is complete in itself and bears no mention of a volume number, but a second supplementary volume was publish in 1917.

First Edition, folio, 671pp., library label on front endpaper, small neat library stamp on verso of title-page, 112 plates (31 coloured, 22 double-page), cont. quarter morocco, slightly rubbed. A second volume, covering the period from 1500 to the 19th century was edited by Hermann Barge, was issued in two parts over a decade later in 1941; Bogeng himself did not contribute to this collection.
