Brown boards, gilt decoration and titles to spines. Undated, but there is a gift inscription dated 1941. Condition notes: Volumes I and III have some spotting to the front boards , and all four are a little knocked. Internally all are clean and bright. Small tear to margin of title page of Volume I.

Grubbiness to external page edges but internally clean and sound. Faint pencil gardener's notes to rear end papers. Overall an attractive copy, even though showing its age.
