Wigham Richardson attached at front end page, dated 30 March 1889 on his Newcastle on Tyne stationery and adressed to prior owner of the book W.E. Adams. 4 1/2" x 7" note card, single fold with writing on all 4 sides. " I have forwarded your letter to Miss Gatty requesting her to give effect to it. Yes I sent you that volume, but not in your editorial capacity..." ( W.E. Adams, 1832-1906, was editor of the Newcastle Weekly Chronicle). Richardson goes on to talk about his embarrassment at having been given authorial credit for his contribution, particularly "...had I known what Miss G. was going to do, I should have omitted the verse at the end."
