London: Parkins & Gotto Ltd. Book is undated, but would guess at around mid 1920's, with maroon boards. Front board has a band of fading to the top adge, about 2" deep. Book is for recording a baby's firsts - name, d.o.b., first tooth, favourite story, first little socks etc. Also has adverts for a variety of items thought to be of use to either mother or baby during this time. Also contains some tear-out slips to post off for items such as Ovaltime, coal tar soap, and even a free sample of "dentifirce twice a day" tooth powder. A lovely copy of a very endearing little book.. First Edition.. Hard Back. Very Good/No Jacket.

San Francisco: Fearon Publishers, 1957. Book has some discolouring to page edges and feps commensurate with age. Signed by the author on fep. Wrapper has heavy general discolouring and heavy rubbing to edges, hinges and corners. There is some splitting to top of hinges with creasing to top of rear cover. Edinburgh: Thomas C. Jack "Embracing an investigation of the records of the organisations of the fraternity in England, Scotland, Ireland, British colonies. France, Germany and the United States. Derived from official sources." price is for all three volumes. No date or addition given. Red boards with gilt design and lettering to boards and spine, gilt page edges marbled endpapers and red leather binding. There is some chipping and rubbing to raised bands on spine, rubbing to hinges and edges of boards, corners are bumped and on some corners the leather has rubbed away to the board. There is some general light marking to the board faces and some very light foxing here and there to margins of text and illustrations there is also some heavier foxing to first and last few pages of each volume. Book has some fading to board faces, shelf wear with bumping to corners of boards, darkened page edges and foxing to first and last few pages and slight foxing here and there to margins that little to text. "Comprising numerous directions for plain wholesome cookery, both of Oriental and English with much miscellaneous matter answering all general purposes of reference connected with household affairs likely to be immediately required by families, messes and private individuals, residing at presidencies or outstations. By the author of "manual of gardening for western India" the spine of this book has at some point been detached from the binding, torn and then carefully repaired with glue. There is a large crack down the centre and at the top where clearly it was broken before repair. There is some loss to cloth at hinges and to head and foot of spine and there are interior mends to front hinges and to page 2 and 3. Otherwise binding is generally tight except for a small chunk of pages (193 to 200) which are loosening at the bottom half of binding.
