Deluxe edition, limited to 85 copies bound in quarter leather by Claudia Cohen and signed by the author, with an additional portfolio of color plates also signed by the author, and an actual mounted and matted salmon fly, signed on the mat by the dresser. The fly in this copy (and in very few other copies) was dressed and signed by Ron Alcott, the only fly-dresser singled out and discussed in the book for his excellence (full-page photograph on page 175). Large 4to, fine in clamshell box.

Washington, D.C.: United States Government, 1848. One-page pamphlet concerning Spanish land claims in Arkansas, which had been deemed fraudulent. Just think...Clinton could've been Spanish. One 8vo sheet, disbound. Very good.

Original printed wraps. Minor wear to wraps, else fine. AN EXCEEDINGLY RARE BOOK, PERHAPS THE ONLY SURVIVING COPY. Not in Palau.

Barcelona: Banco Anglo Sud Americano, 1929. THE UNIQUE COPY of this gift book created for banker Alfredo Taylor upon his retirement from the Barcelona branch of the Banco Anglo Sud Americano. Comprises an initial blank, title-page PRINTED IN GOLD, 63 leaves of signatures (three signatures to a leaf), and three final blanks. The signatures (those of Taylor's colleagues) are of great interest from the point of view of graphic design: they are very dashing and calligraphic in the Spanish style, with characteristic flourishes. Extremely fine wove paper. Beautifully bound in full morocco by MIQUEL RIUS (signed), covers and turn-ins ruled in gilt, Taylor's initials in gilt on fron cover, all edges gilt. FINE AND BRIGHT, with no defects. UNIQUE.

FIRST AND ONLY EDITION of this early account of the island of Nosy Be, off Madagascar, and of the voyage through Africa to reach it. 255 pp. From a large-paper edition of only 27 copies, THIS IS COPY NUMBER 1, ONE OF ONLY TWO COPIES PRINTED ON IMPERIAL JAPANESE PAPER AND SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR. 8vo. Original wraps decorated with a color-printed map of Africa (including Madagascar). FINE AND BRIGHT. The justification clearly states that only the 27 large-paper copies constitute the true first edition. Such copies are extremely rare.
