Sir Leslie Ward (1851-1922), English caricaturist and portrait painter, signed his works 'Spy.' Joseph Walton (1845-1910), a Catholic and a distinguished advocate, represented the interest of Catholic children against Thomas John Barnardo. As lead counsel to the Jockey Club, he appeared in Powell v. Kempton Park Racecourse Co., which defined a 'place' within the meaning of the Betting Act. Roland Lomax Vaughan Williams (1838-1917) was appointed a Judge of High Court of Justice in 1890, a Judge in Bankruptcy in 1891, and a Lord Justic of Appeal in 1897. The print is a black-and-white image of the painting After High Tide in the Bay by August Hagborg (1852-1921). No date of publication. The series The Masterpieces of French Art was issued in the United States beginning in 1882. Portfolios containing several photogravure prints and several wood engravings were published on a monthly basis. Gravure Goupil et Cie became Boussod, Valadon & Cie in 1884. A beautiful print. In 1899 he became General Officer Commanding the British troops in Egypt. He became Governor of Victoria, Australia, in 1904. Teignmouth notes that "Lady Teignmouth has lately presented me with another son." The engraved portrait (drawn by J. Richmond, engraved by W. Walker) was published by Hatchard & Sons in 1843. John Shore, 1st Baron Teignmouth (1751-1834) was an official of the East India Co. and served as Governor General of Bengal from 1793 to 1797; the following year he was created Baron Teignmouth. He was also the first president of the British and Foreign Bible Society. In Very Good Condition: letter is lightly creased; lightly soiled; print is lightly soiled in margins; indentation at upper edge; image is clean and crisp.

Stipple engraving of Catherine of Braganza as queen, with her hair in ringlets, wearing a loose gown and mantle fastened on her right shoulder. She is seated with her left hand on an open book beside a crown and feeding a lamb with her right. First published in 1826 in the folio edition of Edmund Lodge's Portraits of Illustrious Personages of Great Britain. Catherine of Braganza (1638-1705), wife of Charles the Second, was Queen of England, Scotland, and Ireland from 1662 to 1685. After she returned to Portugal as a widow, she served as regent of Portugal in 1701, 1704, and 1705. She is credited with popularizing tea drinking, common among the Portuguese nobility, to the English court. In Very Good Condition: minimal light foxing; otherwise, clean and bright.
