Short diagonal creasing at two corners, otherwise Fine.
In addition to a poignant message provided in part below, this flyer supplies the platform of the Socialist Workers Party and solicits donations.
"Increasing numbers of Black and Puerto Rican people in this city are opening their eyes to the cruel and unjust system that oppresses us. We fight against our Vietnamese brothers and sisters when the main enemy is right here at home. That enemy is capitalism - the system of Nixon, Rockefeller, Wallace and Lindsay. It is the system whose two parties, the Democratic and Republican parties, come asking us for votes every year while Democratic and Republican officeholders send out brothers to die,… Read More

Although their principles evolved over the years, as of 1918 they were still quite anti-immigrant. Membership was restricted to "native born citizens who believe in their country and its institutions, and who desire to perpetuate free government, and who wish to encourage a brotherly feeling among Americans to the end that we may exalt our country, to join with us in our work of fellowship and love."

Incorporated by J.P. Morgan in March, 1901, U.S. Steel was once the largest steel producer and largest corporation in the world.
H.W. Rosenbaum was a broker and dealer in options on bonds and stocks. He was described in Nelson's 1904 A B C of Options and Arbitrage as "perhaps Wall Street's oldest option trader."
"I have always believed that the public has greatly undervalued this great corporation, partly from misconception and partly from prejudice, and it is chiefly with a view to satisfying my own mind on this point and to point out the true facts as they appear to me that I have undertaken this work ..." ~Rosenbaum, excerpted from the text.

Description:
No place, no publisher, no date (ca. 1946). Original camera-ready political cartoon by Bishop. Pencil, pen & ink on thick paper measuring 12 inches by 10 inches, verso blank, signed lower right.
Lightly toned, small tear in the top margin (not affecting illustration), slight edge wear, pinhole lower left margin, otherwise Very Good or better.
Quite possibly the work of Daniel Bishop, the art work is characteristic but the signature is not. Additionally, the text provides "Knudson's 20% Tax Reduction" but almost certainly refers to Congressman Harold Knutson (R. Minnesota) who introduced legislation to that effect in 1946.
Regardless, a really cool piece which depicts a grinning Uncle Sam slicing pie with the lion's share for "Money Man" while "Labor" requires a magnifying glass to see his portion.
