Very handsome limited edition consisting of two 11" x 14" prints by the poet & critic John Perreault & the artist Ira Joel Haber. 1 page is printed on light brown heavy stock paper & is a hand written text poem by Perreault. The 2nd page is a full color serigraph of collage of buildings with coloring added by Haber, printed on heavy stock white paper. Placed in a white folder, that has very minute soiling. Fine.

Hollywood, 1934. Original Signed Photograph . Photograph. Two very rare inscribed photographs of the African American actress Fredi Washington. The first portrait is a sepia toned publicity portrait of the beautiful actress that was used as publicity for her most famous role in the 1934 version of "Imitation Of Life" in which she played the light skin daughter of Lousie Beavers. The photo is printed on heavy stock paper and is inscribed and signed in ink "To Millie & Sammy we've kown each other since "when" may it never be "Why" Fredi. The photo has been trimmed and there is a touch of a nick to the bottom edge, luckily the inscription and signature has not been harmed. The second photo is small 5" x 7" close-up portait of her from the 1940's which has been inscribed and signed in ink with her full name. Uncommon editon of this novel that has marvelous silver foil Art Deco design dustjacket along with the same design reproduced in silver foil for the front and back endsheets. The dustjacket has minor wear some chipping to the spine panel but is in vg conditon. The book is also vg+ condition. The novel was made into a play and then later into a movie that starred Clive Brook, Francis and Miriam Hopkins.

The act was the ill-fated musical that was directed by Martin Scorsese of all people who did not have a very good time of it. "I was doing a stage play-the only one I'll ever do, I think-called The Act, with Liza Minnelli, and I was having a very very bad time." The show had music & lyrics by Kander & Ebb but only ran for a meager 233 performances but still managed to get 6 Tony nominations including a win for Ms. Minnelli. Liza has signed it "Love Liza" with a little smiley face. Split to the bottom edge of the program's cover and a tiny tear to the bottom edge otherwise fine.
