Maroon cloth with dulled gilt titles and simple blind stamp decoration. Hinges carefully strengthened at some time in the past, and boards with a few marks, still a very good and tight binding. Inner hinges (and inside edge of the title) strengthened. Original front-endpaper laid-down to front board. Title with previous owners signatures to top margin. First 14 pages consist of Preface; Alphabetical Index; and Metrical Index. In all there are 276 separate tunes with musical script (some with words). Clear text throughout.
