Sounds worse than it is, and is a rare copy. .

Black cloth as two perforations at spine gutter one front near top and one pinhole sized at bottom rear. Modest wear to cloth finish and edges. A terrific copy overall compete and not robbed of its illustrations! .

Brentano's bookseller label on rear pastedown. Modest shelf and edge wear to extremeties, some rubbing to color cover. Gilt spinal titles show some fading. Edge wear most notable at top and bottom edges of front board, head and foot of spine. .

A very nice copy overall. .

Green cloth over boards with a color illustrated front board pastedown (of water-baby on red buoy), gilt titles and credits front and spine. Pages edges darkened, spot to bottom edges. Gilt present but faded, most notably at foot of spine. Text block tight, with a few loose but complete pages. 12 full page color illustrations by Smith tipped in, all present and compelte - that at frontis loose. Overall the whole shows light shelf wear, most notable at extremeties where cloth shows wear, lightly bumped corners and rolling to head and foot of spine.
