A compendium of how-to instructions from a time when the homeowner was presumably much less timid about undertaking major projects. Text, photos, and diagrams cover in detail topics such as creating built in cabinets and shelves, working with electricity, painting, plumbing, tiling, and many others. Two volumes in reddish-brown leatherette. Minimal wear, but a bit of yellowing due to age. Over 1000 pages total.

Seacacus, NJ: Castle, 1991. Hardcover. Fine/Fine. 8vo - over 7¾"- 9¾" tall. You'd think from the title that this a joke, but you'd be wrong. This is actual advice on entertaining your cat. Later printing, fine in a fine jacket.

Ex-library but with usual stamps etc, but internally unmarked and quite usable as a reference. This MUST be an authoritative reference to have reached it's 12th printing by 1975. Clear technical drawings throughout illustrate assorted techniques.

Ukrainian Gift Shop, 1979. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. A detailed look at the history and technique of Ukrainian Easter Egg decoration, with many line drawings to illustrate patterns, and many still-vibrant color photos of completed eggs. Laid in is an order form titled "All necessary equipment to decorate your own Ukrainian Easter Eggs" from a company called "Surma" in New York, which existed for nearly a 100 years before closing in 2016. VG in bright red boards with a yellow spine. Some scuffs, most notably to lower front corner and edge of boards, but really in quite good condition.

The New Home Library, 1943. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Useful introduction to the use of hand tools. Boards have some soil, pages browned, but overall VG, with no jacket.
