New York: Delacorte Press, 1993. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. First printing of this sad, beautiful story by a Newbery Award-winning novelist. Book has no flaws, but jacket has a small tear at rear top of spine and a crinkle just starting to tear on the front top right corner. Won't be very noticable in Brodart. Price ($13.95) is intact. Overall a lovely copy.

Houghton Mifflin, 1958. Hardcover. Fine/Near Fine. Fortnum, Peggy. Stated "Tenth Printing C" of the original US edition, so probably circa 1962. A tight, lovely copy with no markings, illustrated throughout with Fortnum's line drawings. Bright yellow jacket is price-clipped and has a few bumps and one closed tear but is in displayable condition. A really nice copy.

New York: Miramax, 2007. First Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾"- 9¾" tall. First U.S. printing of this title from the author of the popular Artemis Fowl series. Near fine (small remainder mark to bottom edge and a couple of very minor bends to lower page corners) in a near fine jacket. Middle grade coming-of-age story about Benny spending the summer with his grandfather and making a friend.

London: Frances Lincoln, 2005. Trade Paperback. Very Good. Allan, June. Uncorrected proof of this chapter book for early readers featuring the heroine of the classic picture book Amazing Grace. Solid purple 6 x 9 paperback, cover shows some scuffs but overall in decent condition.

Grosset & Dunlap. Hardcover. Fair. 8vo - over 7¾"- 9¾" tall. Green spine picture cover. Significant wear to boards at spine (rubbed length of the book front and rear). Fairly light ink stain to spine, rubbing and small ink mark to rear boards.

New York, NY: Grosset and Dunlap, 1937. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. A solid tweed copy of this title, showing wear and sunning to the edges of the front and back boards and some minor soiling to page edges. Internal lists to Black Flower, placing this copy circa 1956. No writing, very clean; endpapers are bright green and lovely. Jacket lists to Black Flower on front flap and to Nancy Drew Witch Tree Symbol on the back. Wrap dust jacket is good in Brodart, showing wear and a few holes on the flap folds on both the front and back, but jacket is intact (just stored poorly). Some minor closed tears. Overall, a nice displayable copy.

New York: Grosset & Dunlap. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾"- 9¾" tall. A fairly nice copy of this first Connie Blair title. Fairly early printing, lists to Yellow Warning. Rear flap lists 13 Cherry Ames titles to Clinic Nurse. Rear jacket panel advertises Vicki Barr books. By Betty Cavanna, written under the Betsy Allen pseudonym. Front flap has tear to surface (not extending through the paper) obscuring the names of the first couple of titles in the list, checkmarks next to some titles.. Jacket priced 9595. Previous owner's bookplate present. Binding very solid, no internal markings. Jacket a little rough, with tear to top rear, tiny chips to corners, slightly larger chips to spine ends, creasing to rear.

New York: William Morrow, 1966. Cloth. Very Good. Haywood, Carolyn. Very nice copy, ex-lib but virtually unmarked. The front free endpaper has been removed, no DJ but a bright colorful pictorial cover. Some minor scotch tape residue on rear board. Back cover states this is a Morrow Eagle library binding, hence binding is very tight. Solid, no marks or writing.

New York: Grosset & Dunlap, 1975. Pictorial Cover. Near Fine. 1975 edition, Fine white spine picture cover hardback, #13 after series was re-numbered in this binding. Lists to self. Blond is on the right in the icon on the spine.

William Morrow, 1982. Hardcover. Very Good. Dos Santos, Joyce Audy. A Weekly Reader edition, original title Gus Was Real Dumb Ghost. Pictoral boards, no dj, as issued. Spine is sunned, corners are bumped, but overall a nice, tight copy of this book written by Catherine Woolley under a pseudonym.

1962. Hardcover. Very Good. Fleischman, Seymour. A Weekly Reader edition of this classic by Jane Thayer, a pseudonym for Catherine Woolley. Minor rubbing to spine and some bumping to the corners, picture cover with no dj, as issued.

Scarsdale, NY: Bradbury Press, 1970. Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. Stated fifth printing, 1978. Judy's stunning coming-of-age story of a child confronting racism for the first time -- a book that was wise before it's time. In as-new condition; tight binding, no writing, orange boards, plain endpapers. Jacket has a price of $6.95, some expected bumping to corners. A decades-old Kroch's and Brentano's sticker is affixed to the back of the jacket and there are a few small areas of moisture damage on the back. Very scarce in hardcover.

Simon & Schuster, 2008. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. First printing of this look at the complex life of the beloved children's author. Dahl served in the military during the first part of his life and the experiences colored his later literature for children. This volume chronicled the complex era of spying propaganda during the WWII era. Book has an unfortunate gift inscription but is otherwise in very nice condition. Jacket has a sticker covering the price but is otherwise excellent.

Knopf, 1961. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Burkert, Nancy Ekholm. Very early printing, price on jacket is $3.95. Final page with author bio states that the book was bound by The Book Press. Book has very minor water damage to the rear board but is in otherwise excellent condition; no writing or marks, two-tone illustrations throughout and full-color plates by Burkert. Minor red ink run from boards to page edges. Solid green endpapers. The dust jacket did its job protecting the book; it shows water damage and staining but is fully intact. One 1/2" chip from front lower edge, and light chipping at most corners. Protected in mylar. Detailed photos available upon request.

Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1990. Cloth. Very Good/Fair. First printing. Book is near-mint, no markings of any kind.. DJ is pretty tattered, with obvious wear and some closed tears. Serious wear to bottom of spine, but "Hougton Mifflin" is still visible. Caldecott-winning author/illustrator of The Polar Express and Jumanji.

Random House, 1970. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. A play from the noted author and cartoonist Feiffer, here in a hardcover book club edition from the Fireside Book club, with the monthly club leaflet included. Very good in an about VG jacket, which does have some wear to corners. Save for previous owner's name on front endpaper (a former Chicago-based theater professor), clean and unmarked internally.
