Crown, 1992. First Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. First Edition. Front cover has a gold sticker that reads "By the author of the award-winning TAR BEACH". Owner's name written neatly on FFEP. Corners are very slightly bumped but otherwise a collector's copy of this beautiful story of Harriet Tubman seen through the eyes of an eight-year-old girl.

Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1952. Decorative Cloth. Very Good/Very Good. Ward, Lynd. A Weekly Reader Children's Book Club Edition from 1960. Gorgeous black and white drawings tell the story of a boy and his bear, winner of the 1953 Caldecott Medal. Cover shows expected wear around the top and along the spine -- a few small chips missing at top of spine, "The" is partially obscured. Front flap is price-clipped, neat bookmark on rear flap, can't think many of those survived intact. A great collector's copy for those who can't afford a true first!

New York : Harcourt Brace, 1958. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. Daugherty, James. A collection of Sandburg's poetry, per the flap, "gathered for young readers." Book is as-new with blue cloth boards and illustrated endpapers. Yellow jacket is price-clipped and shows wear along the spine, especially at the top and bottom. Small closed tear to the back of the jacket. A classic from the Illinois legend and multiple Pulitzer winner.

A first printing of a beautiful picture book by a Newbery Award -winning author. . When Sang-hee's father can't light the fire that lets the king know all is well in the land, will Sang-hee light it? Or will he keep it dark so he can finally see the soldiers?

New York: Pantheon, 1967. Decorative Cloth. Very Good/Good. Lionni, Leo. Lovely story of how Frederick brings light back to the winter. Cover shows a well-loved book- small rips along top and bottom and near spine. Caldecott Honor Book sticker on front cover, jacket is price-clipped but date on bottom of front flap seems to indicate Sept 1966. Book is not a first but obviously a very early printing.

Clarion Books, 1996. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. Second printing of the 1997 Caldecott Medal winner, dust jacket does have the medal affixed. Price ($15.95) is intact and front flap has "1096" date notation. Number line on copyright page reads "10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2" . Beautiful condition, no markings, appears not to have been read. DJ is near-fine.

New York: Viking Press, 1935. Cloth. Very Good/No Jacket. 12th printing. Cover shows wear and staining, NO DJ. Previous owner's bookplate on front board. Else in very nice condition, lovely color paintings.

Caldecott Honor Book sticker in upper left corner of cover. Cover shows minimal wear with tiny rip near top of spine on the back. Third printing of this Caledott Honor Book.

New York: Random House, 2006. First Edition . Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾"- 9¾" tall. Young adult novel from an up and coming author, winner of the Printz medal. First printing, Fine in a VG+ jacket. A little creasing at top front edge, a little shelfwear.

Delacorte Press, 1995. First Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/Fair. First edition of this colllection of exceprts from Newbery Award-winning novels, all focused on animals. Book is in excellent condition, no marks, writing, etc. Jacket is worn, a few minor closed tears, some wrinkling and scuffing, not a collectible copy but still absolutely presentable. Great for a classroom or a kid who would read these stories over and over.

Delightful story of motivated waiting for Papa to come home from work.Stated first edition, number line reads 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1. Book has glossy boards with pictoral cover, in impeccable condition, no bumps or marks. Slightest wear to jacket, minor crease to lower edge, bookstore price sticker on the back. Jacket has price intact ($11.75). A collector's copy, authored by a beloved Caldecott Award-winning illustrator.

Thomas Y. Crowell, 1959. Hardcover. Fine/Near Fine. Shimin, Symeon. Lovely hardcover with near-fine jacket, one minor ding along the spine and some wee bumping along top and bottom of spine. It does have the Newbery Medal sticker, and the jacket is price-clipped. No marks or writing, a lovely copy. Number line indicates a 13th printing. This book won the Newbery in 1960; the author also won for ...And Now Miguel in 1954.

New York: Random House, 2006. Hardcover. Fine/Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾"- 9¾" tall. Lovely copy of this Newberry Honor book. A novel based on the author's own experience growing up Italian American. Fine in a very nearly fine jacket, with just a small bump at the head of the spine, and a touch of shelfwear.

Farrar Straus Giroux, 1980. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Stated first printing, in a price-clipped dust jacket. Book has minor wear, jacket has a small gouge on the back and some visible wear across the top back edge. Overall, a very nice copy of the poignant young adult novel by a Newbery Award-winning author.

New York: Alfred a Knopf, 2003. First Edition . Hardcover. Fine/Fine. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. A beautifully illustrated small format picture book about a boy with a pumpkin for a head. First printing, fine in a clear mylar jacket revealing cutaway in front boards. From the Caldecott Award-winning author-illustrator.

The Viking Press, 1944. Hardcover. Near Fine/Fine. Lawson, Robert. Stated second printing before publication, 1944, winner of the 1945 Newbery Medal. Fully illustrated in glorious sepia by the author, endpapers are simply stunning. Jacket shows expected wear but is in very good shape save for a "clean" spot where a Newbery sticker was once affixed; a fragment of the sticker remains and I did not try to remove it. Jacket is unclipped ($2.00)and has a few minor ships; preserved in mylar, it displays very well. A collectible copy.

Bobbs-Merrill, 1954. Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. Alden, Betty. A charming look at children around the world, from the Newbery Award-winning author of Amos Fortune, Free Man. Book seems to have produced specifically to promote trick-or-treating for UNICEF. Book is tight and unmarked, jacket has minor edgewear and fading to spine and top front edge. Overall, in wonderful condition, spectacular full color endpapers.

Viking Press, 1936. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. A wonderful copy of this 1937 Newbery Award winner. Book in spectacular condition, tight, clean. stated fourth printing, September 1938. Inscribed neatly on FFEP for Christmas 1938. Book plate attached to blank back of FFEP, does not detract, actually kind of charming. Jacket is NOT clipped but does have price marked out in blue ink. Jacket states third printing on front flap. Gold Newbery Medal affixed to front, peeling slightly. One 1/2" chip missing from top of rear panel, small 3/4" closed tear to front of jacket. Jacket else very, very good, expected wear to extremeties but overall about the best you could hope to find on a 68-year-old children's book. Just a gorgeous copy.

Houghton Mifflin, 1948. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. First printing, date of 1948 appears on title page and copyright page, no indication of later printing. NOT ex-lib, book is in wonderful shape, black boards with white type, some fairly significant bumps to top and bottom of spine with color rubbing off, other corners lightly bumped. No writing or markings, color is vibrant, binding is tight, no dogears or folds. Jacket is in rough shape but is intact. NOT price-clipped, shows price of $3.00. Significant closed tear along edge of front flap, chips to top and bottom edges of front cover, significant (3/4") chip missing from bottom of spine and another closed tear to spine right at the title. Minor chipping and significant edgewear to back cover, which features ads for Paddle-To-the-Sea and Tree in the Trail. Jacket will be presentable in Brodart but is rough, could be repaired. Overall a very nice copy of the 1949 Newbery Honor Book, in collectible, if not perfect, condition.
