This address is significant because the address is about General Sherman's March from Atlanta to the Coast. Col. Jones was president of the association when this address was written. This copy is very firmly stapled in its paper cover. Nineteen pages, complete. No soiling or marking to the interior of booklet. The booklet was at one time folded in half, and theres a light crease down the middle of the booklet, both front and bac. Some surface soiling to cover. No nicks or tears. Macon Georgia: Litho Press, 1989. Soft cover. Very Good/None Issued. VG/0/Reprint. Harry Stillwell Edwards won a second place prize of $500.00 for this short story from Life Magazine in 1916, and was later included in a volume of his short stories. Edwards was well known in Georgia for his stories of Eneas Africanus and Eneas Africanus, Defendant. This booklet was printed in 1989 by Litho Press for Robert L. McCommon, Jr., probably given out as a gift or with some kind of purchase. The booklet is 8 pages long, firmly stapled, with a small stain on the paper front cover, and two even smaller ones on the back. No stains orsoiling to interior. Signed at the top of the title page : "To Helen With Love from the author's granddaughter. ----------". This may be a first stand - alone-- I did not find another copy at all. This is an historical bulletin for the Augusta County Virgina Historical Society for the Fall of 1987. Only 27 pages, it contains information about the society and a report of the Spring meeting, along with an article about the Trotter Home and Tavern, an article about obituaries in Augusta County in 1865, and some inforamtion abut the bicentennial of the U.S. constitution. The main article is a 7 page article divided into two very long fold outs of Company E, Fifth Virginia Regiment, Stonewall Brigade. The fold outs contain the soldiers name, age, where and when enlisted, residence, rank, when taken, what U.S. prision, how long, if died, where and when, where discharged, address of living, and occupation. Baraboo Wis.: Sauk Publishing Company, 1924. Soft cover. Very Good. VG/3rd prntng. The main flaw with this copy is the construction paper like cover to this 112 page booklet. The cover is longer than the interior pages and has some short nicks to the cover, mostly at the heel of the covers. There's a small white stain on the back cover. The interior has clean unmarked pages of higher quality slick paper. The booklet is loaded with maps and illustrations, and quite a bit of information about the local native Americans legends. Georgia was a late starter, but still made it as one of the original 13 colony. This program records the 1954 Bicentennial of one of the first towns in Georgia, which is located midway between Savannah and Brunswick Georgia. Packed with historical information as well as some very old photos and other illustrations pertinent to Midway and Liberty County. Program is unmarked, is rubbed by the staped cover, and has a patch of faded cover at the top (looks like a square label was there at one time). NF/later Printing (1997) Clean, very close to new, coloring book that illustrates both Union and Confederate uniforms(and/or lack of uniforms) in different areas where the Civil War was fought. Uniforms such as : Fifth New York Volunteer Infantry(Duryea's Zouaves) compared to Zouave of the Louisiana Tiger Battalion. Sailors, drummers, and sailors are also illustrated. Colors of uniforms are part of the author's information printed on each page, with some brief history. Nothing has been colored in, no markings or soiling of any kind. Very light wear to cover edges. Atlanta Georgia: Lyons-Young Printing Company, 1930. First Edition. . Soft cover. Very Good+/None Issued. A very nice sound copy of the dedication for the Oglethrope Monument located on Grassy Knob (later renamed Mount Oglethrope) Georgia in 1930 by Colonel Sam Tate, the owner of Georgia Marble Company, at that time the largest marble quarry in the United States. The Monument was located 10 miles east of the quarry, at the terminus of the Appalachian Trail until 1958. It was restored and moved to Jasper Georgia in 1999. This handout for the dedication in 1930 contains the addresses by Mr. Tate, Justice Price Gilbert and Hon. Randolph Anderson and celebrates the 200th anniversary of Oglethrope's landing in Georgia. Booklet is 32 pages long, with several black and white photos of the area, and attendees. Paper is clean and unmarked, with an occassional wrinkle to the first few pages of the booklet. This is an adorable 6 page children's story with an advertising Se-fly-go insecticide from the Selig Co. of Atlanta Georgia. The colors are bright and very typical for the 1920's. Illustrations on every page. This stands about 2 1/2 inches, which entitles it to miniature book status. The one staple is a little rusty, but is holding on very firmly. Not a spotless copy, but remarkably clean. This may be a first; I haven't found anything other than the copyright date-1924. This is one booklet of a series about Dot and 'Don. Du pont De Nemours Chemical and Holding Company for the year 1925. Contains a brief history of the company, a list with definitions of products Du Pont made, and information about investments in Movie Studios and General Motors. Also shown are charts of consolidated income comparisons. Booklet is firmly stapled, with some minor surface soiling to cover, and a small water stain on the lowest corner of the pages. A very nice early business history piece for someone doing research or someone that works for the Du Pont Comapny.
