All 3 vols have spines damaged and had missing portions, now restored. Spines have have gold long-stemmed "lilies" with scarab beetles on top; the front covers in gold show a Pharoah on a "swing seat", slightly rubbed. The edges are NOTworn and the corners are only very slightly bumped or not at all. No ownership markings. A record of typical (?) confusion, maneuvering and political power in Egyptological discovery. Some progress might have been made in the last 20 years in opening the hidden portcullis (door) but precisely what is not known.
