Description:
Lyon: Editions Scouts de France / La Hutte, 1943. 40p., printed professionally on excellent bright-white coated paperstock, despite wartime shortages; 8.5x5.5 inch rubricated wraps. Scattered b&w illustrations and a doublespread organizational chart. Spinefold and cover margins are foxed and dusty, but staples have escaped rust, and on the whole the look is of a newish production. If we are dating this item correctly (terminal leaf bears numerals 27-12-43) this is a publication from occupied France; the Vichy regime may well have wished to cultivate an organizational mentality amongst its youth, and official approval could explain the excellent paperstock.

Description:
Vichy: Federation Francaise des Eclaireuses, 1944. Pamphlet. 63p., newsprint, with a b&w photo section on semi-coated stock; softbound, a pamphlet in 9x6 stapled semi-coated pictorial wraps, a fragile item in fairly good shape. Staples still shiny and holding well, paperstock toned of course, covers dusty, front cover foxed round the margins, a good to very good copy that has been enclosed in a neatly-folded clear plastic sur-wrapper taped to itself. Back cover has been stamped (twice) with an official Scout rubber-stamp (not fully legible). Oui, it's girl scouts but we had no separate code word.
