Very Good- condition. maroon leatherette covers over heavy paper with gold and red gilt on the front and spine. There is some bumping and wear at the top edge and all corners. There is gold gilt on 3 page sides, but it is spotted in places and the spots did not come off when I wiped the closed book page edges. Page numbers 73/74 have a hard upper corner crease. Text is clean and binding is tight.

Reveries of a Bachelor contains a series of essays, on the themes of boyhood, life, and dreams. By American author Donald Grant Mitchell pseudonym IK. Marvel. Preface by the author is dated New York, November 1850
Includes newspaper clipping with a photo of the author and a story about his recovery from a dangerous illness. Good condition for a book of its age. The cover has a strip of embossed flowers and the title which was originally gold gilt, but not too much of that is left. There is some edge and corner wear and some spotting. The spine is soiled or has darkened. There is a light pencil note on the front end paper. The top closed book page edges are darker with some soiling/spotting. The inside pages are clean with probably light tanning. The binding is tight for the most part. The area where the clipping was stored has been slightly darkened by the clipping.
