This book appears to be for children, but the stories are quite readable for adults. It consists of stories, poetry, and illustrations. There is a color image across from the title page.Good condition. Front cover is colorful images with the date 1885 in the bottom corner. Back cover has advertisements. There is some soiling, chipping, and much wear at spine - there is only cloth left at the spine. End paper and color image are loose, but book appears to be complete. Front end paper has an inscription "Presented to Olive Rice by Grandpa Ressler on her 4th birthday. March 6th, 1886 (I believe)". Pages are age tanned, and some have spots. Text is clean and most of binding is still good. LOTS of illustrations. 256 pages

No date, but probably published around 1885 as the other books in this collection belonged to Olive Rice when she was a child in that era. Lots of black and white illustrations.Poor condition.
