London: Samson Low Marston & Co Ltd. Decorative Cloth. Good. Bound in attractive decorative dark purple cloth with gilt titling. In good condition. Fading to cloth colour at cover edges and spine, minor rubbing to cover edges. Hinges are weak, but binding is good and secure. Free front end paper is missing. Light foxing to first and last couple of pages, otherwise clean internally. 242 pages with colour frontispiece and 4 additional illustrations. No date given, circa late 19th century. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall

London: Castell Brothers, 1894. Hardcover. Good. An attractive little book, bound in illustratated paper boards with cloth spine. In good- condition. Covers are quite grubby, although still appealing. Free front end paper is missing, some smudges and markings internally, none serious. Previous owner's signature from 1894. Binding is slightly loose but secure. 22 pages, with illustrations on every page and 9 full page colour plates. A charming presentation of this rhyme. No date, inscription is 1894. Size: 24mo - over 5" - 5¾" tall

London: John C. Nimmo, 1898. Cloth. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Green cloth binding, bright gilt decoration and titling on the front cover, faded on the spine, the covers are pretty clean- a few minor marks. Front inner hinge pulled a bit, toning to the pages. Pages; 680, 45, (1). With 10 sheets of plates (checked complete).

London: A. Hall, Virtue & Co, 1850. Half-Leather. Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. George Cruikshank. Leather binding with marbled covers, maroon leather title label. Rubbing and some wear to the leather, the outer hinges are in good order, but the inner hinges have weakened and only held by the strings-still secured- but handle with a little care. The text is complete, browning to the frontispiece and engraved title, some plates are browned, some others are fairly bright (about half of the plates with light to moderate marking and the other half with heavier browning), small stain to the bottom of edge of 3 plates at the end. Dimensions; 225 by 150mm. Pages; (4), XII, (2), 496. With 30 sheets of plates by George Cruikshank including the engraved title and frontispiece.

Covers are rather dulled, a bit grubby with rubbing to edges, but still quite attractive. Inscriptions and price stamps on front end paper and half-title page, browning to end papers, a few markings internally, none serioius. Lean to spine, binding is a bit loose but secure. 288 pages plus publishers catalogue, with 8 illustrations. Twelfth thousand. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall

Decorative cloth binding, nice looking covers, floral decoration and gilt titling on the front cover, smart pictorial lake scene on the rear cover, light rubbing. The hinges are secure, without the front free endpaper- so inner hinge exposed- secure. The text is complete, some browing to the title page and last sheet, toning to the pages. Pages; 128. Dimensions; 170 by 107mm. Engraved frontispiece and some illustrations in the text. Original owners signature on the frontispiece reverse. Undated but 1883. Size: 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall

London: Smith, Elder and Co., 1867. Half-Leather. Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. George H. Thomas. 2 books bound in 1. Pages; (6), 384 / (6), 384. Contains 32 sheets of plates + 30 woodcut illustrations at the start of chapters. Nice looking red leather binding with red marbled covers. Chipping to the leather at the base of the spine and at the base of both covers, rubbing and a bit of fading on the spine. The hinges are in good order. The text and plates are complete, browning to the tissue guards in vol 1- the plates are a bit toned because of it, brighter plates in the 2nd volume, light foxing in places, toning to the pages, previous owners signature at the top margin of the 1st title page.

Paris: Amedee Bedelet, 1853. Hardcover. Good. 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. 7 hand coloured plates including the frontispiece (6 illustrated with charming monkey and cat), some woodcuts in the text. Pages; (2), 48. Dimensions; 155 by 122mm. Pictorial covers, the covers are marked, some wear and chipping on the spine, hinges secure. Loosened a bit internally, the text is complete, without the half title and rear endpaper. The text and plates are complete, toning and marking to the pages, the plates are in good condition- last plate with light browning, neat repair to the inside of one text page.

Attractively bound in pale gray cloth with gilt titling and decoration, delicately coloured floral design on front cover and spine, and illustration on front cover. In good condition. Some rubbing to cover edges, prize label from 1893 on front end paper, a few spots of foxing and smudges internally but generally clean. Binding is good and secure. 188 pages. A rare title by the author of 'Love Conquers All' and 'Among the Heather'. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall

Library stamps on end papers and publishing page, browning to end papers, internally very clean otherwise. Binding is very good. 262 pages. No date - early 20th century. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall

Green cloth binding, fading and rubbing to the cloth, rubbed at the edges, a few tiny nicks to the corners etc. Inner hinges strengthened, binding in good order. Toning and some marking to the pages, generally tidy. Pages; XXXI, 607, (3).

The inner hinges are pretty loose, browning to the endpapers, toning to the pages. Armorial bookplate of W. J. Winter-Taylor on the endpaper and signature of the same on the half title page. 360 pages + adverts.

Rubbing and marking to covers, splitting to cloth at spine edges. Previous owner's signature on page facing title page, some foxing and marking internally, not affecting legibility. Binding is loose but secure. 256 pages with publishers catalogue. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall

Edinburgh: Macniven and Wallace, 1878. Half-Leather. Good. 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. Red leather binding with marbled covers, marbled endpapers and page edges. The leather is rubbed at the edges. The hinges are in good order. Light toning and marking. Pages; (10), 102. Contains 6 sheets of woodcut illustrations. A tongue in cheek tour of the north of Scotland.

Some fading and marking to the covers, the staples rusting noticeable at the start and rear, nick to the inner margin of the frontis at the staple. The pages are browned. 98 pages.
