Sold as a good reading copy only because of the difficult condition. 6 1/3" tall, xl + 563 pages, plus a 22-page 'Plans de Berlin'. Fold-out maps, flexible cloth. A good minus copy overall, spine cloth loose, faded, and frayed at the rear hinge, both hinges cracked, internal binding solid, printed map endpapers yellowed and becoming fragile, paper moderately yellowed and still supple; the Frontispiece map is torn out, all others appear to be present but many are tattered at the edges.

Octavo, 8 1/4" tall, xiii + 328 pages with inter-textual black and white illustration, silver and gilt titles and decorations on brown cloth. In good condition over all, generally clean, light exterior soiling with moderate, shelf wear but fraying to the spine cloth at top and bottom edges and a short split started at the rear hinge; hinges and binding solid, paper light to moderately yellowed, but with foxing to the endpapers and some foxing lightly scattered throughout. Octavo, 8 1/2" tall, 200 pages, with original color wraps bound in, marbled endpapers, gilt top edge and gilt spine titles, 3/4 leather over marbled boards. Originally published in decorated wraps (still present). Rebound in red leather with banded spine and labels, marbled boards & endpapers. Illustrated with 235 photographs reproduced in heliogravure. A near fine, clean, neat hard cover with light shelf wear; hinges and binding tight, paper lightly yellowed. Overseas postage is prohibitively expensive at present.

Octavo, 6" tall, 327 pages, fold out maps (including Bank of England!; Houses of Parliament, etc) endpaper ads from Murray dated February 1868; gilt spine titles, embossed brick-red cloth. A good + copy with exterior shelf wear, back strip starting to fray at top and bottom edges of the spine; internally very good, hinges and binding solid, paper clean and lightly yellowed.

Duodecimo, 6 1/3" tall, ix + 307 pages + 4 bound-in folding maps (Edinburgh, London, Switzerland, Paris, plus 3 loose pocket maps (Railway map British Islas, Railway map of Central Europe, and Sights of London grouped) + 20 ads, ad endpapers, gilt titles on red leather. A good minus, relatively clean copy overall with significant shelf wear, front cover loose, spine leather worn and chipped, cover worn at all edges; hinges broken, internal binding solid, paper light to moderately yellowed--and the Central Europe map has folding tears.

A very good, clean hardcover first edition with minor shelf wear, slight darkening to the backstrip, cove cloth slightly foxed, hinges and binding tight, paper clean and moderately yellowed with light foxing to the top fore-edge and some foxing at the endpaper gutters. Octavo, 8 3/4" tall, 499 pages with 3 fold-out maps and intertextual black and white spot illustrations scattered throughout, gilt top fore-edge, gilt titles on illustrated maroon cloth. A very good, generally clean, sturdy original hard cover with minor shelf wear and rubbing at the corners and darkening at all fore-edges, binding solid, paper moderately yellowed. 3 maps: 'Thibetan Plateau', China inclusive, Northwest Yung-Ling Plateau, each moderately yellow, some what fragile, but whole, with some cracking occurring at folds. A good + set overall, interior very good, clean, neat, internal binding tight, paper just moderately yellowed; but exterior leather binding dried, darkened at the spines, with chipping along the hinges, hinges cracked but holding.
