[6-inch slit along spine; few creases & edge nicks; cover is suitable for framing] Harry Von Tilzer (1872-1946) is famous for writing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game." Dillon (1877-1966) wrote "I Want a Girl Just Like the Girl That Married Dear Old Dad."

Very Good cond. Songwriters Hall of Famer Turk (1892-1934) wrote special material for Nora Bayes and Sophie Tucker. Grant (1878-1951) was a charter member of ASCAP and a vaudeville pianist.

[interior leaf torn @ edges; back cover torn @ edges, but front cover is still suitable for framing] A ragtime song hit w/cover photo of German born singer Emma Carus (1879-1927) against a colorful stylized background of green leaves. Carus was a big star at this time and had introduced Irving Berlin’s "Alexander’s Ragtime Band" in 1911. Russian born lyricist Lew Brown (1893-1958) worked with a variety of composers, among them Jack Glogau (1886-1953).

A photo of singer Dolly Connolly is off to the side. Good cond. [closed tears @ spine head; small music store stamp on front cover; else G] Popular early 20th century lyricist Mahoney (Rubin Kusnitt, 1882-1945) wrote the words and Percy Wenrich (1887-1952) the score. Dolly Connolly was Wenrich’s wife and performed with him in vaudeville.

Chicago: Frank K. Root. 1916. sheet music. 6pp. paper folio with colorful cover depicting a period rose. Good condition. Includes sheet music for Frost’s (1893-1959) "Darlin’" and Frost and Keithley’s (1880-1955) "When Shadows Fall."

New York: Waterson, Berlin & Snyder. 1919. 4pp. paper sheet music 4to: Good [minor edge tears; some creases; else G] Cover illustration by Franco-American artist Barbelle (1887-1957) of a woman in fashionable period attire (his forte) waving goodbye to a troopship. Three prolific New York-born Tin Pan Alley songwriters and future Songwriters Hall of Famers collaborated on this number for the Irving Berlin company. Sam M. Lewis (1885-1959) had his first hit in 1912 with "That Mellow Melody." He teamed with Joe Young in 1916 and remained his partner until 1930. Joe Young (1889-1939) had toured Europe during World War I, entertaining troops as a singer. He wrote his first major hit, "Don't Blame it all on Broadway," in 1914. Von Tilzer (1878-1956) wrote "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." Cover photo of Jolson (1886-1950) surrounded by cotton blossoms w/facade of plantation house in the background.

New York: Charles K. Harris. 1917. sheet music. 6pp. paper folio: Good condition. Cover photo is of Lucille Cavanagh, the singer who introduced this waltz at the Palace Theatre, NYC. Charles Kassel Harris (1867-1930) was a Tin Pan Alley pioneer. His most famous song was "After the Ball," written in 1891 and still played on the folkie circuit today.

[few minor creases; cover is suitable for framing] Sanders (1882-1956) was married to the Danish-American composer Carlo (Hans von Holstein, 1883-1967). Albert Barbelle (1887-1957) was a prolific illustrator who provided the cover art of an Irish rural scene with photo of young woman in oval frame.

This was Jolson’s "terrific hit" in the NY Winter Garden production, "Dancing Around." An early Tin Pan Alley tune for the German born American songwriter Kahn (1886-1941). Grace LeBoy (1890-1983) married him in 1916, and none other than Doris Day played her in the 1951 film "I’ll See You in My Dreams," a biopic based on one of Kahn’s most famous songs.

Blanche Ring's song hit in "What Next." This rousing and naive song describes Irish regimental elan on the Western Front, at a time when the Easter Rebellion was only yesterday and the issue of Irish conscription into the British Army threatened civil war in Ireland. The long-lived Olman (Abraham Olshewitz, 1887-1984) was a founder of the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1969.

Albert Barbelle (1887-1957) was a prolific illustrator who provided the cover art of a wedding scene with inset photo of actors Fanny Brice (1891-1951) & Charles King (1886-1944), who would find greater fame in the ensuing years.

Remick. 1918. 4pp.  paper folio: about Good [edge tears & some creases; cover is still suitable for framing] Marvelous wartime cover depicting a soldier in uniform blowing a bugle while Lady Liberty clasps him on the shoulder.  The rays of a stylized sun rise in the background against the legends "Buy Bonds! Buy Bonds!" and "Hear the Bugle Call." A Tin Pan Alley tune for the German born American songwriter Kahn (1886-1941) and the American songwriter Van Alstyne (1878-1951).

(This may be Mitzi from the musical "Head Over Heels.") fair cond. [few edge tears; page 3 is darkened but music is legible; cover is suitable for framing] Lyrics by Woolf (1881-1943), most famous for his co-authorship of the screenplay for "The Wizard of Oz" some 20 years after this song was published. Music by the incomparable Kern (1885-1945).
