London: Chatto & Windus. 1988. Near Fine. Facsimile editions. Paper covered boards in color printed slipcase. In original shrinkwrap that has been left on the slipcase but opened at the side to access the books. The books have very faint soiling but are tight with solid hinges and good tips. The textblock is clean with no writing, bookplate, or markings and not BCE, ex-library, or remaindered. No dust jackets, as issued. 40 and 44 pages. 6¼ x 9½" tall. Two facsimile reproductions of books self-published by Andy Warhol and his mother, Julia. 25 Cats Name Sam and One Blue Pussy was originally printed in 1954 in a run of 190 numbered, hand-colored copies, most of which were given as gifts to friends and clients. It is an homage to the 26 cats that lived with Warhol and his mother in their New York townhouse, all of which were named Sam (except for one, named Hester). Sixteen of them are depicted in the book.
