The book records the author's travel in thr Arabian peninsula, Between Kuwait and Muhammara, and his daily events with Mubarak al Sabah and the Sheikh Khaz'al Khan, the ruler of Muhammara. Some photographic illustrations show the streets and port of Kuwait, with one portrait of Khaz'al Khan and one of Mubarak al Sabah. The first printed work to record the political and literary events in the early decades of the Arab movements on the western shore of the Gulf, by the well-known Christian journalist and Arabism supporter, Abd al Masih Antaki. Dr. Faris Nimr was a Lebanese-Egyptian Christian intellectual, publisher, and journalist who played an important role in popularizing modern science and Western ideas in the Arab East in the late nineteenth century. He graduated from the Syrian Protestant School in Beirut, where he met his future colleague, Sarruf College. Together they published the scientific periodical al-Mqtataf (Choice selections), and upon moving to Cairo, they published the newspaper al-Mukattam, which had a very wide circulation. Early printed travel book to Europe in Arabic, al Muqtataf press 1892, written as a dedication to the Khedive Abbas Hilmi Pasha II, the Vice-roy of Egypt. Muhammad amin Pasha was accompanied by his father Abdullah Fikri Pasha (ex-minister of education and tutor of the Khedive's sons) who was headed the Egyptian delegation to Stockholm. The delegation also took in London, several parts in Europe and the exposition univeselle in Paris. The elder fikri died after returning, with only a dozen pages of his final report written. His son finished the report in tome running to 806 pages (pages 807 to 823 are for index). Landberg had personally persuaded Khedive Tevfik to send the Egyptian delegation and, as host, went out of his way to make them feel like colleague, not exotic exhibits.
