The little prince falls ill and verges on death when he is saved by Dr. Fun who prescribes a dose of play. His majesty then plays tennis, golf, ninepins etc. and recovers. The story is cleverly told in verse. There are 12 fanciful and outstanding full page chromolithographs plus numerous 2-color text illustrations by ALAN WRIGHT (Anne Anderson's husband). A wonderful picture book, quite scarce.

There are horses, mounted cavalrymen, representatives of the Yeoman of the Guard and more. Each of the panels is beautifully illustrated with chromolithographs. There are slots in each panel into which the reader inserts a figure to complete the scene of the Coronation Procession of Queen Elizabeth. Most are interchangeable. Typical 50's style illustration and nice. See Whitton: Raphael Tuck p. 169-70.

This is a charming 16 panel panorama illustrated in rich colors by Linda Edgerton in the style of Attwell. The theme is activities for a little girl, most dealing with dolls and golliwogs. One panel's caption is "Teach golliwog, teddy and dolly to say their ABC". Really nice.

Cowham was one of the first women illustrators for Punch magazine with her style similar to Mabel Lucy Attwell. This is an outstanding copy.
