Each book has 6 fine full page color illustrations including the covers plus black & whites in-text. The stories involve simple adventures that these little baseball people have as they go to various places. It is rare to find all three books together in such nice condition.

The titles are: Little Danny - a forest elf, cut in the shape of a mushroom; Teddy Bear who visits Doctor Michael in the forest, cut in the shape of a bear; The Story of the Grumpy Hen who is never satisfied, cut in the shape of a hen; Mike, The Monkey, a circus monkey who runs away for adventure, cut in the shape of a monkey; Mary, Lady Bug, a nurse-maid to the fairies and Bob Bright, a boy who plays baseball and breaks a window (this one illus. by Sigrid). All in fine condition and a rare set of books.

The book opens in the center with 5 pages on each side and a backdrop page at the end (similar to McLoughlin theatre books). Every page shows a different activity around a typical home: inside the kitchen, in the barn, etc. Each flap is illustrated on both sides with the colors covering the pages. Fine German printing and charming vignettes illustrated by Emma Hubner. Short text in verse is by Hanna Schachenmeier. A beautiful copy.
