(it is possible that the stamps may have adhered to each other). Interspersed throughout the fairy tales are blank rectangles in the center of which the reader is meant to affix the corresponding color stamp. Wonderfully illustrated by an unknown hand with black & whites in text and with 72 stamps in bold colors. Very rare in any condition but especially so in such nice condition with dust wrapper.

This unique "Alice" is illustrated by SIDNEY SAGE with 6 color pages (printed on one side only) that contain large die-cut colored figures cut on 3 sides. The reader pushes out the pieces and folds them to a standing position creating 6 detailed POP-UP scenes. All figures unused but it is meant to be reusable. A very scarce "Alice" item.

No publishing information, made in Ireland circa 1930. 4to (11 1/4 x 10 1/4"), paper wraps with color pictorial paste-on of all of the Alice characters, some fraying and wear to covers else near Fine. Inside there are 6 striking color handkerchiefs each pinned on paper and each depicting a captioned color scene from Alice including: The Mad Hatter's Tea Party, The Cheshire Cat and the Duchess, The Queen's Croquet Ground, Old Father WIlliam and the Caterpillar, The White Rabbit's House, The Dodo and the Caucus Race. Each image is quite detailed and each has decorative borders. Peto was a popular British book illustrator notable for the classic art deco style of her work. We can find no record of Peto ever having illustrated a book version of Alice. Rare.

(because the envelope has never been unsealed, it is possible that the stamps may adhere to each other). The stories include Puss In Boots, Mother Goose Rhymes, Three Bears, Farmyard Friends, Three Little Pigs, Twelve Wild Animals, Peter Rabbit, Jack & The Bean Stalk, Cinderella, Robinson Crusoe and Rip Van Winkle.
