Grant. 23 illustrations of Battle Scenes from the Civil War. The book is divided up into four sections: PART I: Narratives of Spies, Scouts, and Detectives; PART II: Daring Enterprises of Officers and Men; PART III: INCIDENTS OF ARMY LIFE IN CAMP, FIELD AND HOSPITAL; and PART IV: DEEDS OF HEROIC COURAGE AND SELF-SACRIFICE. Interesting section entitled: "The Conduct of The Colored Troops" about the general bravery of Negro soliders in the U.S. Civil War.
