The bottom one inch of the front wrapper margin is lacking. The first 26 pages which contain the Proceedings are chipped on the bottom margin. Several pages report on the progress being made in the Colony of Liberia. The appendix lists the life members of the Society and the auxiliary colonization societies and their officers.<br/><br/>

Image measures 5 1/2" x 4"<br/> <br/> Mrs. Ann Wilkins was a notable figure in the history of the Methodist Episcopal Church (M.E.C.) and its missionary work in Western Africa during the 19th century. She volunteered as a missionary to Liberia in 1837, where she worked as an educator at the White Plains Manual Labor School and at the Liberia Conference Seminary. She also founded the Female Boarding School at Millsburg in 1839. She remained in Liberia until 1856. This portrait was engraved by J.C. Buttre and printed by Middleton, Strobridge, & Co., was published in The Ladies Repository of 1859. In very good condition, with some scattered foxing.<br/> <br/>

He was sent as a missionary to Liberia in 1834, where he worked to establish and strengthen the church's presence in the region. This portrait was made after an ambrotype by Brady, engraved by J.C. Buttre and printed by Middleton, Strobridge, & Co. It was published in The Ladies Repository of 1859. In very good condition, with some scattered foxing.<br/> <br/>
